Tobacco Leaves Hanging in a Barn - Curing Tobacco Leaves

International Shipping

There are several options when it comes to overseas shipping with Leaf Only. Overall, we try to be as accommodating as possible for our international customers. Generally, most customers choose to use USPS, but occasionally, customers will have their own accounts with a freight forwarding service or other carriers. Choose whatever option is right for you!

Option 1) Shipping through a freight forwarding company or other shipping carrier

This option is commonly used by international customers who receive regular shipments and want to reduce their costs. After establishing a relationship with a shipping carrier of your choice, please contact us to make the appropriate arrangements to send out your order(s).

Option 2) Shipping through the United States Postal Service. (Most popular for retail customers)

Unprocessed tobacco leaf is not considered " roll your own tobacco", and is 100% legal to send through the United States Postal Service. It is not in voilation of the PACT Act or any other regulations concerning the delivery of tobacco through US mail. After determining the approximate shipping cost of your order, please contact us to make the appropriate arrangements for shipping your order. Alternatively, you can also contact us, and we will go through the process of estimating your shipping cost and help you place your order.

International Shipping: Disclaimers and Notices

Unless there is a special request, we ship all international orders using USPS Priority Mail and use commodity codes (beginning with 2401) that designate our goods are not taxable tobacco "products", rather raw agricultural commodities or non-taxable goods. However, depending on the country, the inspecting customs agent may charge taxes on our goods as if they were tobacco products.

If this happens, customers can get heavily taxed by customs, and can usually either apply for an appeal, or refuse the package and have it sent back to us. If the package gets sent back to Leaf Only, and you want it sent out again, you would have to pay for shipping all over again (since we do not get refunded for these circumstances). If you decide that you do not want the package re-shipped and would like a refund, you would only get refunded the item total minus a 5% restocking fee. Shipping charges do not get refunded. If your package is returned for being unclaimed and the shipping carrier charges us to have it returned, that amount will be deducted from your refund.

If a package is returned for being unclaimed, or for another reason that causes Leaf Only to be charged a fee, this amount will be subtracted from your refund total.

With all of that being said, this situation does NOT happen often, but it can happen. We just want to make you aware of it just in case. If there is a big concern or depending on your circumstance, you can always try reaching your local customs office and tell them that you would like to import "RAW LEAF TOBACCO", commodity codes beginning with 2401, and ask them if there is anything you should be aware of.

Customers in Canada: You can still order online! Simply enter your postal code into the box above without any spaces and proceed with the checkout process.

Please be aware that Leaf Only cannot be responsible for duties, taxes, and any other charges imposed by the Country of Canada or shipping carriers. As we were told by border officials, there is a $1.572 / kilo ($0.72 / LB) duty on raw leaf tobacco, for which we are supplied special raw leaf tobacco stamps to affix onto packages.. We were also told that there may also be 8% - 13% tax on the item total depending on your province that is standard on all imports - even non-tobacco items, as well as a $16 manifest charge that customs may or may not impose.

It is our understanding that UPS charges an additional "brokerage fee" for delivering goods to Canadian customers, while USPS does not. That explains the price gap in shipping options.
NOTE: If placing an order with an item total over $200, it's recommended to either call in for a custom UPS quote, or choose USPS when checking out online.

Customers in Austrailia: Please be advised that as of 2014, Australia requires an import permit in order to allow whole leaf tobacco into the country. All information regarding on how to apply for the permit can be found here:
