The Fronto / Dark Air Cured (J1) is often a very dark, very thick air cured tobacco leaf, but is not a wrapper grade tobacco. The J1 Grade name signifies that it was grown southwest of Louisville, KY, USA. This leaf is often one of the largest, and one of the darkest leaves we carry, but as with any natural leaf, this can vary slightly. This leaf has a very dark chocolate brown color on top, with a lighter color on the underneath. Due to its large size, it is to be expected that there will be slightly more damages than other Dark Air Cured.
Our Ecuadorian Binder is the binder quality version of the Ecuadorian Seco Shade Wrapper. Our Dark Fire Cured Tobacco Leaf is one of the darkest tobacco leaves offered at Leaf Only. The use of large fires to cure the tobacco leaves it with a pungent smoke-like smell and flavor. Although this leaf is traditionally used to make chewing tobacco, snuff, snus, and in pipe blends; some of our customers have enjoyed this leaf in a hookah blend, or as a roll-your-own fronto leaf, comparable to our Dark Air Cured Tobacco Leaf, despite it's strong smell and flavor.
The Fronto / Dark Air Cured (CLO) is an air cured tobacco leaf grown in Canada. This leaf is very large, and carries a milk chocolate brown color, that will only darken with age. Because it was grown farther north, the color of this leaf will be lighter in color, and thinner in texture overall.

The QB-52 Fronto Leaf Wrapper is yet another extremely popular variety of fronto leaf that is primarily sold by the leaf at city convenience stores and specialty shops. This variety of fronto leaf is of high, wrapper leaf quality, with a slightly lighter color and thickness compared to our Fronto / Dark Air Cured Tobacco Leaf. This leaf has been aged longer than the regular QB-52 Fronto Wrapper, to make it darker. This can cause parts of the leaf to be black from the process. This is something special we have been doing at Leaf Only to give our customers even more options.

This Organic Canadian Virginia Flue Cured leaf typically has a yellow color, but can look very similar in color to the Organic American. It arrives with a heavenly fresh, unmistakable aroma - bringing back memories of the tobacco leaf before the mainstream commercial usage of today.

The MacArthur Classic Natural Corn Cob Pipe from Missouri Meerschaum is a large pipe similar to the iconic pipe smoked by General Douglas MacArthur himself. Based on an old design from the late 1800s, this pipe has a very deep bowl and a long stem for an extended, cool smoking experience.
Being a longtime fan of our Corn Cob Pipes, General MacArthur sent schematics to Missouri Meerschaum for a custom pipe. Of course we obliged! The MacArthur 5-Star Corn Cob Pipe features a shortened tobacco chamber allowed for an easy smoke, the extended bowl made the pipe easy for the General to use as a pointer, and the long shank provides a cool smoking experience. When we sent him his creation, he was delighted and would rarely be seen in a photograph without it.
Our PA-KY Fronto Leaf is a medium bodied, medium brown, Fronto grade leaf. This Kentucky grown PA Broadleaf tobacco leaf is similar in grade, color, body and burn to our popular QB-52 Fronto Wrapper .
Mainly used to make cigarette tobacco leaf blends a bit stronger and smoother, Maryland 609 is also used for cigar filler, pipe blends, and chewing tobacco leaf. Maryland 609 is a “light air cured” type of tobacco similar to Burley but lighter in body and more neutral in flavor.
The Piloto Cubano Dominican Binder varies in color, but is generally a darker leaf with smooth to medium strength. This leaf is one of the most widely used cigar binders in the tobacco industry.

A Flue-cured Tobacco, Bright Tobacco. A leading commercial variety in Ontario. But it grows very well across the USA too. These plants are known to get as big as 12ft. This plant was developed by crossing Canadian and American varieties to improve quality and disease resistance and to lower nicotine. Its slightly heavier, thicker leaves cure nicely with a high percentage of mahogany and orange leaves. The flavor is said to be somewhat bolder than other varieties, but not too strong, with a rich tobacco flavor and a very heavy yield.

Commercial variety grown in Ontario, developed by crossing Delgold, the longtime industry standard, with an American variety. Extremely Potent half hardy annual that grows to about 3 ft. and is cultivated worldwide for smoking and nicotine production, but also works great for pesticides. This plant has many green to yellow flowers that remain open during the day and be can raised as far north as Maine. It is a fast grower and is so potent that it has been used as an arrow poison in Mexico!
An upright variety with more leaves than most varieties. Is taller than most varieties on the market and cures a golden color. Great for cigarettes, and one of the largest producers.
This variety originated in Kentucky. It has relatively large leaves of medium body that cures out a deep, rich brown color. Can be fire cured or air cured depending on application.

This Turkish tobacco is among the best money can buy. Originating in the Samsun region of Turkey, along the Black Sea, this tobacco is renowned for its unique rich flavor. This plant has smaller leaves than other strains, but a very distinctive aroma. An excellent Turkish blend or unique by itself.
The Connecticut Valley is a major source of some of the world's finest wrapper leaves. This golden colored wrapper tobacco is highly regarded and praised by many cigar makers and connoisseurs. Connecticut Shade originated from a strain of Cuban seed, is shade-grown under huge tents of cheesecloth or greenhouse shade netting to protect the delicate leaf.
This is a wonderful tobacco leaf for cigars, making a good filler and binder that imparts a deep, rich flavor to cigars. Leaves are darker, long and narrow, and offer a good high yield harvest.

Rare and famous Louisiana tobacco known for its dark, black color and unique flavor when cured. Perique is a spice tobacco, usually used in Virginia blends. It has a dark, oily appearance, when cured and a taste of pepper and figs. Its flavor is a little strong, so it is usually found mostly in blends. It can be smoked straight, but isn't intended to be. Being acidic, it tends to alleviate alkaline tongue bite, which is so often a problem with Virginia tobacco, so it is recommend to blend this with your cigarette blends.
Cuban Criollo 98 is one of the most valued strains for Cuban cigars. It originated from a crossing between the varieties ' Havana 92' and `Habana P.R'. Cultivated in the sun it produces from 14 to 16 useful leaves per plant and makes an excellent binder. It reaches an average height of 6 feet. Leaves average 24 inches in length and 12 inches wide.
Habano 2000 is derived from a crossing between the variety Corojo and a non commercial variety of Cuban dark tobacco, the Habano 2.1.1. Grown in direct sun it reaches an average height of 6 feet with 14-16 leaves per plant. In very rich soils it can develop up to 18 leaves per plant. Sun grown plants are often used as a binder or filler. Grown under a shade cloths, Habano 2000 makes an excellent wrapper.

Basma tobacco originated in Greece. It is known for its sweet and aromatic taste. Leaves have a sugar content of 10-12%. It is a tall columnar plant reaching 6" in height. Leaves are sharply pointed averaging 9" to 10" in width and up to 20" in length. Plants produce an average of 20 leaves per plant with a nicotine content of 1%. Matures in 60 days
This heirloom is an all around good tobacco. Makes a somewhat sweet chew, and is also good for making cigarette and pipe tobacco blends. Large plants with heavy crops, should be staked or tied off to something for support, or it will blow over in heavy storms.

Our Mata Fina Brazilian Wrapper leaf is medium to dark in color, yet not too thick. This leaf, grown in Brazil, is slightly reminiscent of the Brazilian Habano Viso. These leaves are smaller and slightly more distinctive in smell then some other wrappers. This was the first of two Brazilian Wrappers we carry at Leaf Only.

This grade of CT Fronto is grown from a havana seed. This leaf's consistency and quality is still comparable to the CT Fronto Leaf (M-27), but the Havana seed gives it a slightly different flavor profile and generally produces smaller leaves.
The Aged Dark Air Cured is a dark, thick air cured tobacco leaf. This leaf has a medium to dark chocolate brown color on top with a somewhat lighter color on the underside. This leaf is very similar to the Dark Air Cured (J1), but an older crop year. Due to this time given to age, you might find that this leaf has a slightly more mellow taste.
Cyprian Latakia is a Yenidje like leaf that goes through a smoke curing similar to the Dark Fire Cured that gives this leaf its dark color and smoky taste.
The PA Oscuro Wrapper is a beautiful dark chocolate wrapper leaf grown in Pennsylvania, USA. This variety of tobacco leaf is of high, wrapper leaf quality, with a slightly thinner composition than our CT 1DW / Maduro, but is similar in color.
