Our Ecuadorian Shade Wrappers are known to be a thinner, milder leaf, and is revered as a beautiful wrapper leaf in the cigar manufacturing industry.
These leaves are much larger than they look in the picture. It's just that the hands are fanned out, so it creates the illusion of smaller bundles. These leaves arrive tied in traditional hands and should be processed just like all tobacco leaf wrappers, and is grown from the Habano 2000 seed. Just keep in mind that shade grown wrapper tobacco is usually much more fragile than sun grown wrapper tobacco (think Maduros and Oscuros) and requires a bit of finesse.
One of the most interesting tidbits about this leaf is that it is said to be "cloud grown", instead of in actual shade tents (like they do here in Connecticut). From what we understand, the region they are grown has almost constant cloud coverage (being in the mountainous foothills of Ecuador), which diffuses the light like a traditional cheesecloth shade tent would!

All I can say is that all Ecuadorian Shade Wrapper's are not created equal. I had tried a different one, from a different seed. However, this is an amazing wrapper. Not heavy on the tongue, and doesn't have that bitterness I find in the lighter wrappers. I don't actually smoke my cigars, except sometimes, so they sit in my mouth for a long time and I really taste the leaf.... Are you confused yet?
I have invented a new cigar product and am doing my product development, and Leaf Only has been an irreplaceable asset in my search. Great leaf. My product "Lightning Leaf" is coming soon.

Very very thin, arrived in excellent shape could almost literally go right to work with them. Very easy to roll flawless wrappers with just the right amount of finesse. Results in a good looking and pleasant smoking cigar.
