Our Honduran Binder Tobacco Leaf is medium to bold in taste. Since Honduras borders Nicaragua, you would think that the leaves would be similar, but as always, the slightest difference in climate and growing methods always offer a unique tobacco leaf experience!
This is a premium cigar binder leaf that can be used in many hand-rolled cigar blends. Use in junction with Honduran filler tobacco for a unique flavor experience, or with other fillers for a more complex flavor profile.
Our Honduran Binder Tobacco Leaf is one of four Honduran grown tobacco leaves we have in stock. This leaf is medium to bold in taste, and carries a milk chocolate to dark chocolate brown color. If compared to Nicaraguan tobacco, this leaf is slightly heavier in scent, and similar in size. This leaf comes tied in hands, and is consistent with other cigar binders in quality.

This binder also works beautifully as a wrapper. There are many whole leaves which are apt to using as wrapper. I even think it's better than the Honduran wrappers currently in the catalog! I get a lovely mild coffee-chocolatey and toasty flavor which balances well with any blend of fillers. The leaves may be a bit "veiny", but they burn evenly and consistently (provided the cigar is well bunched). When properly hydrated, it's elastic and easy to work with and you can wrap any size desirable. I'd give this a try!

I made a purito out of one leaf to see what it would do for me. Once hydrated a bit, it's a very elastic and beautiful leaf. It's got good strength and good burning qualities. For me, I thought this leaf was very sweet. Pepper and a herbal edge come out when pushed a little hard. Slight hay-like and caramel notes. The smoke's texture is a little "grainy", let's say "chalky" rather than very smooth. A very pleasant toasty-caramel aroma. Looking forward to working with this leaf some more.
